A framework of Software Development methodology is applied for the development of an information system. This framework has four major steps including the structure, plan, control and process of developing a specific information system. Because of the intense use of the software programs in the Ecommerce Solutions, there is a variety of frameworks. All these frameworks have their own weaknesses and strengths and one methodology cannot be used for all the projects. There are two components of the software development methodology. The first component is the philosophy which includes the approaches to the development process. The second component includes the multiple tools, methods and the models required in the development process. There are four basic considerations on the basis of which a specific methodology is selected which include technical, project, organizational and team considerations. The methodology followed for any project is formally documented. For example, flowcharting is one of the oldest tools of software development. Organizations are heavily dependent upon the frameworks of software development from a simple Custom Website Design to the development of the complex information systems. The general approaches which are employed in the specific methodologies include the waterfall, prototyping, incremental, spiral and Rapid Application Development (RAD).
